Celebrations and Activities!
Tysen and Victoria wanted to do something completely different for their wedding. When Michelle from The Geldenhuys’ spoke to Victoria on the phone the first time, she said that it always felt like a wedding goes by so quickly, and they wanted to make it as long as possible. So instead of just one day, they celebrated the whole week with their guests in Mozambique.
Tysen and Victoria participated in a range of activities over the few days, including: kayaking in the ocean, beach volleyball, traditional dancers, snorkelling, sunset dhow rides, indulging in local cuisine, and so much more.
Getting Ready & pre-Ceremony
Their wedding itself was an all-hands on deck task. The morning of the wedding their bridesmaids and groomsmen set up the ceremony area by picking roughage and constructing the “wedding arch” from that.
Beach Ceremony
Their ceremony overlooked the ocean! A quick walk down about 100 steps to the beach; Tysen and Victoria were met by confetti and champagne.
Couple & Bridal Party
The Geldenhuys’ captured the most fun and “in-the-moment” pictures of the couple and the bridal party. How dreamy are the sun-kissed couple pictures though?
Reception
After all the photos were taken, they took about a 1 kilometer walk along the beach to reach the restaurant where their reception was being held. It was a true Mozambique experience that all the guests loved.
“Capturing a story like this, so out of the ordinary, is just once again a reminder that your wedding day should be just that, YOUR wedding day. Make it yours, make it unique to you as a couple, and don’t conform to the norms and traditions if it isn’t who you are.” – Michelle from The Geldenhuys’
