Urban Emerald Green Wedding Inspiration
Trendy Gold & Green Wedding Decor and Styling
Tracy from Trunk Events was our coordinator for this inspirational photoshoot. She helped all the different vendors combine their specialities to create an amazing wedding setting that is perfect for trendy, cosmopolitan couples. Her creativity and brilliant decor styling expertise really shone through on the day.
See what Tracy had to say about this shoot: “With the ever-changing wedding trends, more couples are looking for the inner city experience and The Cartel Rooftop is one of our favourite venues located in the heart of our breathtaking Mother City with views and a modern style.
We loved being involved and working with industry experts. As Wedding Planners and Coordinators, we love how the Pink Book style shoots extend our relationships with new suppliers in the events and wedding industry. These styled shoot experiences connect us creatives whom we love working with, and whom we can refer to our couples after a full day of fun and hard work.”
The unique and vibrant emerald green and gold decor and furniture elements were provided by The Hire Haus. Cara, the owner of the company, had the following to say; “The Hire Haus loved being a part of such an amazing collaboration. It was a great opportunity to meet and mingle with the finest in the industry. We loved the Emerald Green theme as we love modern looks and felt our decor really worked well with the look. We loved the experience!”
The Flowers and Stationery
The beautiful flowers for this shoot were provided local decor and floral stylist, A Dream Come True Events. Simone added lush greenery, and soft hues of white and blush with her beautiful centrepieces. And for the bridal bouquet, she made two options. A beautiful classic arrangement of green, black and white as well as a modern hoop flower arrangement. Keep an eye out on our blog and subscribe to our YouTube channel for an awesome DIY of this flower hoop! Simone was kind enough to help us make a great do-it-yourself video.
The striking wedding invitations, name cards, menus and other wedding stationery for this photoshoot was provided by the amazingly talented Susan Brand. With just the right colour combinations, font choices and paper stock, Susan put together these inspirational stationery options. The gold foil on black made for the perfect name place cards. And a dramatic, dark green leaf-print contrasted by gold text on the invitations was eye-catching.
A Completely Creative and Unique Wedding Cake Concept
The terrific wedding cake was provided by Kanya Hunt of the Hunt House Kitchen wedding cake boutique. Kanya specializes in contemporary wedding cakes and she didn’t disappoint. She created a breathtaking dark chocolate cake accented with emerald green crystals, fitting the urban theme of the day perfectly.
This is what she had to say about her inspiration; “We are always thrilled when asked to take part in styled shoots. We love being inspired by all involved and to be given a platform to showcase new styles and particularly cake styles unique to our brand which is contemporary chocolate work.
When given the theme the word Emerald spoke to us and I wanted to incorporate the magnificent sugar crystals from our local sugar Crystal Company based in Montague Gardens. Their sugar crystal products are amazing and teaming this with dark chocolate was our main inspiration. The “urban” part of the theme was portrayed in the shapes of the chocolate shards almost resembling a city skyline.”
The Bride’s Jewellery and Hair & Makeup
Our gorgeous bride for the day, model Bianca Mavuso, looked amazing. Her hair and makeup was done by professional makeup artists, Tammy Hardy. With dark smokey eyes to match the dramatic colour scheme. And a natural colour tint for the lips. She looked absolutely breathtaking.
Jewellery for the day was provided by Black Betty Jewellery Design in Cape Town. A beautiful selection of gold rings fitted with different green gemstones, as well as bulky gold bracelets adorned our bride. And simplistic gold and pearl ball and chain earrings perfectly rounded off the look.
The Wedding Dress and Groom’s Suit
Our beautiful bridal gown was supplied by local Cape Town wedding dress designer Tashreeqah Sadien. We have worked with her on our previous Castle Wedding shoot, and as always it is a great pleasure. Her wedding gowns are the perfect combination of intricate and elegant. Tashreeqah had the following to say about the day:
“It is such a pleasure and honour to work with the creatives. It’s a great opportunity to build relations and to build content for our social media pages and advertising. It gives our followers an idea of new styling and decor which is lovely. The themes are not mainstream which is why it’s so nice and what makes it such great ideas. I believe the wedding gown we chose gave that extra special look and feel to the whole concept and the model wore it stunningly.”
Our dapper groom was clad in a smart suit provided by the Top Hat suit hiring company in Cape Town. With his bow tie, undercoat and green boutonniere, he looked like the perfect gentleman. The couple had a blast on the day and their energy really shone through in the photos.
Picture Perfect Wedding Photos and Videography
Our fantastic teams responsible for capturing the day were local wedding photographers Wednesday and October and videographers ASAH Films. Without them, you’d have to use your imagination to see the end result. ? Hilde captured every moment perfectly, from the decor settings to the couple shoot in the busy streets of Cape Town.
Hilde from Wednesday and October gave this feedback; “I am a huge fan of urban, more modern styles combined with greenery so I was excited to be a part of this styled shoot. The day itself was a bit tricky because it was a very sunny morning and shooting details directly in harsh sunlight always poses its fair share of challenges. But it turned out really well in the end and I think it definitely added to the overall aesthetic. It also meant that we had to get a little creative for the photos featuring the couple. But trying to find shaded spots to shoot in gave us a chance to explore more of the venue’s beautiful spaces. The other teams involved were really fun to work with and its always so great to create something beautiful with fellow industry members!”
Tessa from ASAH Films covered the behind-the-scenes, DIY video and some interviews on the day. Subscribe to our YouTube channel to see all the upcoming videos. About the photoshoot, Tessa said the following: “The rooftop cityscape location is one that I rarely get to work in, so it was fresh and exciting for me as a videographer to be able to see what is possible in such a space. Pink Book and the team did an incredible job of showcasing the beauty of a modern, chic wedding setting and style, and I really enjoyed being part of capturing what they put together.”
