Kalmoesfontein Farm, the home of AA Badenhorst Family Wines, is a rustic wedding venue situated in the Paardeberg, between Malmesbury and Wellington (75 km / 1 hour from Cape Town).
The venue is an old house on a working wine farm, with a big open zinc-dak back stoep. Rustic to the core, the original farmhouse dates from the turn of the 19th century. It is set amid the vines and features a fully equipped kitchen. There is an under-cover back porch with ambient lighting and a dancefloor under the stars.
The versatile venue can comfortably host both big and small weddings. Celebrations with circles as tight as 19 guests, to the back stoep that seats 120 guests. By adding a stretch tent, they can accommodate up to 200 guests.
Farm accommodation sleeps 18 in 5 cottages:
- Koringhuis (3 bedroom)The Winemaker’s Cottage (2 bedroom)
- The Stables (2 bedroom)
- Die Melkkamer (1 bedroom)
- The Silo – the perfect Honeymoon Suite (1 bedroom)
Additional glamping accommodation can be set up for extra guests.
There are separate cottages for both parties to get ready. A range of options for ceremony settings. A few terraces with stunning scenic backdrops for drinks and photos. The venue also has a changeable reception area – anything is possible.
Ceremonies can be celebrated on the lawn in front of the wine cellar, under the archway by the farmhouse stoep; or in a unique clearing in ‘die bloekom bos’ under the maypole. Guests can be brought to the farm (and returned safely to their accommodation) with shuttles or a glamping campsite can be set up outside the cellar.
