3. Landtscap

This trim, modern venue is a wonderfully neutral palette of raw surfaces and organic design. Bathed in warm, natural light, the interior is insulated by a water-wise, rooftop garden. With a 270-degree view of the Stellenbosch mountains, inside-out entertaining is a must. If you allow for a dance floor, the indoor area can seat up to 160 guests at beautiful, rectangular, oak tables that require no linens. Ceiling-to-floor windows and glass sliding doors on three sides allow guests to take in the majestic landscape.

The indoor area opens onto a wooden deck that is perfect for cocktails. The deck leads onto a beautiful lawn that, weather permitting, is wonderful for a small ceremony, pre-reception drinks, or food stations.

4. Laurent at Lourensford

Lené from Authentic Planning has the following to say, “We got married there so it’s a very special place for us, but also just gorgeous in between the mountains and the vineyards. The venue is large and open so you can fill the space in any way that you want to. It has stairs moving outside, so you can either get married in the line, underneath the trees if that’s the thing that you are looking for, otherwise down the steps if you want to do the entrance thing where you walk down the steps.”

5. Cassia 

Situated in the heart of the Durbanville Wine Valley on the  Nitida Wine Farm, is the wedding venue every bride dreams of.

The Saffron Room is completely self-sufficient, accommodating 30 – 200 guests depending on the configuration. The ceremony can be performed on the farm; in the Saffron courtyard or in the Saffron Room. Venue hire includes crockery, cutlery, chairs, tables & glassware for up to 120 guests. They offer a variety of mouth-watering canapés which their dedicated service team will serve accompanied by a glass of Nitida MCC. The dedicated functions kitchen offers pre-designed function menus at various price points but these are flexible to suit individual needs and dietary requirements. “They’ve got a large dam on the outside and also a big venue with an open glass area. A courtyard on the outside with large trees where you can get married and also got a nice backup area if it’s raining or if it’s terrible weather.”

6. Boschendal

“We have some exquisite venues in Cape Town, they all have unique offerings, some of my favourites include Boschendal. It’s stunning, it’s huge. You can have your ceremony cocktail hour and reception in a very similar area without it being all in the same place. The service is incredible, the food is divine and there is a lot of accommodation on site,” says Nicci from Nicolette Weddings.

“Cavalli is also one of my favourite venues, it’s absolutely impeccable, the garden where you would have your ceremony is immaculately manicured, the lawn next to the lake is perfect for cocktail hour, they also have a stunning deck which overlooks the lake and the inside is modern, fresh, it’s a clean pallet that you can pretty much do anything with. But it is not what I would consider an empty shell because it’s still got a bit of a personality of its own.” – Nicci Morris

10. Vrede en Lust

Cara from Mosaic Weddings state, “When it comes to maybe my top few venues that I love to work at, I’m always going to say Vrede and Lust, it’s a beautiful venue. The staff are amazing, the chef is fantastic. They have an on-site winery so you can go wine tasting and chocolate pairing. They sleep 40 people, the views are amazing and they just built some new rooms so you’ve got the old Manor House which is maybe a nice place to put your grandparents or your parents and then you have the more modern accommodation.”

The Vineyard terrace offers spectacular views with a total of 300sqm outdoor floor space surrounded by frameless glass (250sqm covered by a permanent roof structure). The historic cellar covers more than 300sqm, with a permanent kitchen and toilets. The venue is backed by generator power to ensure no loss of electricity at any time.

“I think the venue offers an amazing experience for the guests. It has a chapel so you have the possibility of getting married inside or outside the chapel. It’s in the mountains, it has the vineyards, they have accommodation on-site for at least 60 people so you can spend the weekend with your friends. My couples usually do a picnic the day before the wedding, they are having a massive celebration the day of and then a big brunch in the area of Stellenbosch after. So Zorgvliet is one of my favourites,” says Tracy from TRUNK Events.
