Swartland Wedding Venues
Picking an out of the way wedding venue is a popular choice. If you’re looking to get married in a unique location, why not have a look at our Swartland Wedding Venues to find the ideal place to get married? The Swartland district begins some 50 kilometres north of Cape Town and consists of the regions between the towns of Malmesbury in the south, Darling and Yzerfontein in the west, Moorreesburg and Koringberg in the north and Riebeek West and Riebeek Kasteel in the east. The area has a varied landscape from the sea, coastal plains, wildflowers (including Fynbos), to wheat fields on the fertile plain, interrupted by vineyards, olive farms and mountains.
Strandkombuis – Yzerfontein
Strandkombuis is situated on one of the longest stretches of beach in South Africa and lends the perfect setting for an informal beach wedding. For your reception, the open-air West Coast seafood restaurant on top of the dunes has an amazing vista of the white beach snaking around the coast and faces directly west, giving you a grandstand seat for the spectacular golden sunsets over the sea. The added bonus with Strandkombuis is that it offers ample accommodation for the main bridal party and guests. Half of the venue is covered with a permanent roof, the other half is covered by a White Tent.

Cafe Felix – Riebeeck Kasteel
Café Felix is suitable to host weddings for up to about 120 people. The whole wedding package including the church, the priest, the music, the flowers, the photographer, the food, the wine, the dance and the party can be arranged. The front courtyard is often used in the past to conduct the formal part of the wedding ceremony. Otherwise, three churches are available in the immediate vicinity. For bigger weddings, a romantic tent is normally used to enclose the outside seating area and to minimise the risk of bad weather.
Het Vlock Casteel – Riebeeck Kasteel
Het Vlock Casteel lends itself ideally to a variety of functions and has two venues in the impressive castle-like building inspired by Cape Town Castle. Upstairs is the Merlot Venue, which seats up to 40 people. Downstairs is the large function hall, Alphonse Lavalleé, which seats up to 250 people. A wonderful feature of the room is the impressive old-style castle double doors which open out onto the vineyards. Even with 80 to 150 guests, Het Vlock Casteel is ideal depending on the arrangement of the tables with a more spacious dance floor.
