Stationery is one of those things that adds that extra touch but it doesn’t have to be over the top! You can really keep it simple and it will still be beautiful. For example, if you are going very classic and extravagant and everything gold foiling and letterpress; it is going to be a lot more expensive than if it was a more plain digital printing. For a guest total of 20, you are looking at spending around R2 000 when going extravagant with gold foiling. You can easily spend up to 10% of your wedding budget on stationery. However, if you are budget conscious look at putting no more than 1% of your total wedding budget aside. If your total wedding budget is R100 000 don’t spend more than R1 000 on your wedding stationery cost.
DIY Wedding Stationery
If you are on a tight budget it is possible to design your own stationery. There are brides who design their own stationery on Canva or another design app, and simply have it printed. It still looks beautiful, and it’s very possible to do, however; we would suggest spending that little bit of extra money and have a designer, who is a professional, who will know how to give you the look that you want. The thing about a designer is they’ll be able to give you a cohesive look running throughout your wedding from the moment that your guests get your Save the Date. Your guests will know what to expect and remember, you want your guests to get excited about your wedding. It’s the first thing they see before your wedding, so it’s really important that it comes across professional and that it looks great!
