10 Bridal Shower Games
Once you’ve picked out your bridal shower theme, you need to consider the entertainment! Are you struggling to come up with bridal shower games that your guests would actually enjoy? No sweat- we’ve got you! Listed are some fun and creative games for your bridal shower that will not only make you get to know the bridal couple better but the rest of the guests too! Now, did somebody say cake and champagne?
1. Find the Guest
It’s the day of your bridal shower! Chances are, not all of the guests are going to know one another. “Find the Guest” is a fun and interactive icebreaker game that will get the girls to start mingling!
Here’s how it works: every guest gets a checklist where they have to find someone who has certain characteristics. Circulate the room to find the guest who…
- Have been married ten years or longer
- Speaks a foreign language
- Has more than three kids
- Have two pets
- Went on vacation within the last three months
2. Fact or Fiction
This is another great icebreaker for guests who are just getting to know each other. Each guest tells the group three experiences which she has had with the bride; two are true, one is false. Guests then guess which one they think is false. Often, the most unbelievable stories are the truth!
3. The Bride or the Groom?
Here’s how to play: Hand out blue and pink cards to guests. Get a friend to host the game (make sure they did a little research before the time) and get them to ask questions to the guests about the bridal couple. Fun question ideas:
- Who said “I love you” first?
- Who makes the bed every morning?
- Who usually apologises first?
Guests can then guess the answer lifting the relevant card in the air. PS: Instead of coloured cards, you can print photos of the bride and groom on the cards to personalize it. Not only will these bridal shower ideas get the laughs going, it will really give guests the chance to get to know the couple better!
4. Who makes the Best Cocktail?
Who says games at your bridal shower should be boring? Set up a full bar, label all ingredients and have teams compete to come up with the best wedding cocktail. Think Mojitos, Pina Coladas and Daiquiris! Yes, please! The bride can then choose her favourite drink and the team chosen gets bragging rights at the bar. Tip: You can get a little creative here. After the first round is over, give guests a mystery box challenge where they must use all 3 random ingredients in the box! Check out this awesome DIY Cocktails Video to get some inspiration.
5. Charades: Wedding Movies Edition
Write names of wedding movies on cards. Divide guests into teams of two. Players act out titles to their own team members, who must guess the answer in three minutes or less. To really make this game fun, make sure to play ‘Who makes the Best Cocktail’ beforehand. Here are some movies to get you started:
- 27 Dresses
- Mamma Mia!
- My Big Fat Greek Wedding
- Wedding Crashers
- The Wedding Singer
6. Fantasy Date
Each guest writes down their fantasy date on a card, or, the ‘perfect’ date. Everyone tries to match the date with the guest. For more advanced play, have guests fill the other side of the card with their date from hell! Here, you have to guess not only who wrote it, but also which side is which.
Side 1: Seafood at the beach
Side 2: Going to a theme park and eating corndogs
Who’s card it this?
7. Who’s memory?
There are a lot of treasured memories within a room of friends, bridesmaids and family. Have everyone write down a favourite memory of themselves and the bride. Put the memories in a basket and have the bride read them aloud. Then, the guests can guess who each memory belongs to. This bridal shower game is super special and personal, and who knows which type of stories will come out!
8. Let Them Eat Cake
Set up a cake bar complete with bite-sized cake pieces. Tip: If this doesn’t tickle your fancy, you can always get mini cupcakes or cake pops. Delicious! Remember to take note of all the flavours. To make it easier, you can write out the flavour of each cake on a card and place it in an envelope behind the bite-size piece. If you are feeling adventurous, try some unique and creative cake flavours.
How it works: each player is blindfolded and walks down the table with one of the hosts, who notes the player’s flavour guess. Looking for a palate cleanser? Why not try adding some champagne into the mix!
9. Scavenger Hunt
An interactive scavenger hunt will get guests up and on their feet while getting to know the bridal couple a bit better in a competitive setting. Here are some questions to get you going:
- This is where the couple had their first date
- This is where the bride and groom shared their first kiss
- This is where they like to have dinner on date night
Take this opportunity to take your guests to come amazing spots around town! However, if you’re at home, you can always throw in questions like “This is where they eat dinner each night” or “This is where the bride sits when she paints her nails.”
10. Who’s that Celebrity Couple?
Make colour printouts of celebrity couples and have guests guess the couple. Where it gets tricky- guests need to identify both people in the photo. Don’t make it too easy—the less obvious the better. Think Olivia Wilde and Jason Sudeikis, Chris Pratt and Anna Faris, and Nick Offerman and Megan Mullally.
