Wedding Dresses 2017 | Spring Trends
Planning your wedding is one of the most exciting times of your life – and shortlisting Wedding Dresses 2017 is no exception! This week we have asked two of our Wedding Dress Vendors to give us their forecast for the new season’s trends for Wedding Dresses.
Toujours Wedding House in KwaZulu-Natal is predicting that designers are going full out feminine and romantic, soft and sexy. Details that stand out in upcoming trends:
Wedding Dresses 2017 – Considerations
1. Colour – Designers are exploring even more colour options and brides love this! We are seeing soft pinks tones, dusty blues, earthy nudes and even a few floral patterned fabrics as with the gorgeous silk organza gowns by Daalarna. These days you can really pick a colour that suits you best. Brides are realising that they can be a bit more adventurous in order to show off their personal style.
2. Silhouette – Many brides are still drawn to the more figure fitting trumpet or mermaid style as this really flatters most shapes, adds a sexy touch to your look and is timelessly elegant. Designers are fine-tuning this silhouette, highlighting the curviest of curves. Another trend which is a little more subtle is soft flowing A-line style gowns – layers of soft tulle with every type of lace highlighted with classic pearls, understated beading and floral embellishments. Every girl needs to try on a ballgown at least once in her life!
3. Show some skin – Although the illusion neckline beautifully decorated with lace still features as a timeless style trend, both plunging V-necklines and back details feature more and more frequently. Brides are not scared to tastefully show a bit of skin and designers are obliging!
Elbeth Gillis in Cape Town is predicting that lace will make its way into Wedding Dresses in a big way this season, but that it is being used in a different way. Gowns are still lacy and feminine, but designers are creating dresses with strong lines and a siren-like sensuality as women become increasingly confident.
Striking Lace details and the illusion of bared skin speak of allure and sensuality. Detachable skirts are also being added to this season’s Wedding Dresses so that brides can mix up their look on their wedding day – the power of choice, that’s what today’s bride wants.
A good tip for when you start looking at wedding dresses is to have a good idea of what you like – but don’t exclude a specific cut or design. Many women do not really know what shape will flatter their figure – so try on many different dresses to see what you like and what fits you well.
