When should you start thinking about decor and hiring?
Everyone has an idea of what they want their wedding to look like; even if it is knowing you want one or two specific colours. Depending on when you are getting married it would always be best to start doing your research on decor and hiring about 9 – 12 months before the wedding day.
Where do you start?
First things first, invest in a wedding coordinator who will introduce you to incredible suppliers. Wedding coordinators know every supplier in the industry and will be able to advise on who to book and contact for a consultation. The right decor hiring company must be able to capture your personalities and give life to your ideas.
Do your research, go onto various decor hiring companies website and view their catalogues. See what items they have to offer and whether it fits into your aesthetic. Enquire when you would be able to visit their warehouse and have a look at the items that caught your attention. Interact with the pieces and sit on the furniture. Advise on your colour pallet for the wedding and the main theme you are going for. Do whatever you have to do to ensure the company knows what you want and envision.
Once you have decided on which items you like; the company should send you a comprehensive quotation with total cost from line items to delivery, setup and collection. Get at least three quotes from three different companies that you can compare.

Gone are the days when wedding setups are standard tiffany chairs for the ceremony. The right decor and hiring company should be able to curate every piece to fit your aesthetic. Be adventurous and listen to the creatives suggestions, they do this for a living and definitely know better than your parents who got married 30 years ago.
