The Inspiration

The inspiration for the Wildflower Style Shoot came when Tania from Salt and Light Events took a trip up the West Coast to see the magnificent riot of colour’s as the wildflowers came into bloom. Although the West Coast’s wildflowers bloom for a few precious weeks each year, the fields, farms, wetlands and dunes of the Western Cape burst into a rainbow of colour as an endless display of wildflowers bloom transforming the once wintery-dull area into a mecca of vibrant shades. The wonders of the West Coast’s wildflowers are enjoyed by flower enthusiasts and everyone else in between. Many flock to every coastal town and inland village, mountain and field during two months of the year to see carpets upon carpets of brightly coloured and breathtakingly gorgeous flowers, as well as an array of other interesting fauna and flora.

“Blink and you’ll miss it”; because before you know it, the fields have turned brownish-grey again and the floral splendour is over for another year.
