Traditional South African Wedding Dresses
South African Wedding Dresses
Pink Book teamed up with amazing vendors to put together this stunningly colourful Traditional South African Wedding Dresses Inspiration Styled Shoot at 26 Degrees South Hotel in Muldersdrift, Gauteng. This gorgeous bush venue suited the modern, contemporary, colourful African theme perfectly and was beautifully captured by Alexander Smith Photography and JPB Media.
26 Degrees South combines the hustle and bustle of Jozi city life and the natural essence of the African bush. The events coordinator, Zenobia from Blue Olive Events was inspired to modernize the traditional African shoot by incorporating modern elements in the vases, dinner setting and candle holders. Oopsie Daisy accentuated the venue with amazing decor that she used to bring out the magical colours of Africa. She incorporated some truly South African decor such as a Potjie Centerpiece, wildlife-inspired items such as the Meerkat figurines.
Angie from Angie Makeup drew her inspiration from her gorgeous surrounds, the stunning dresses by Shifting Sands African Couture, the bright colours and embellishments and this is how she decided on the makeup looks for the models. Angie accentuated the first model with rich golds and bold lips. For the second model, she used darker colours to create a more dramatic look.
We had the wonderful opportunity to be able to have 8 of Shifting Sands’ amazing African Wedding Dresses. These gorgeous dresses meet the needs of any bride, ranging from bold and beautiful to dark and dramatic. Sanette combines the old and the new to create something truly unique, she pulls elements from traditional African wedding dresses and modern, high fashion gowns to form absolutely stunning works of art without conforming to the boundaries of any traditional bridal gowns.
