The Gentle Regality Wedding Concept
This completely unique wedding concept is the brainchild of the dynamic teams at Warren-Stone Weddings and Just Jack Weddings and Events. They were aiming to create a wedding theme that is contemporary, opulent and dramatic – something that will appeal to the modern South African couple. Renowned South African wedding planner and bride-to-be, Precious Thamaga, agreed to be the muse and model for this one-of-a-kind styled shoot.
The photo shoot started with a single table setup outside underneath the picturesque oak trees in Stellenbosch. Making use of the beautiful old Dutch manor house at Nooitgedacht Estate as a backdrop. They combined the heritage of the establishment with a table layout that featured rich and royal elements. While the soft colours of the lush floral centrepiece by Mable M Florals tied everything together.
This setting outside played host to the start of Precious’s Bridesmaidsmoon, where she and her five bridesmaids started the morning with a delicious brunch and bubbly from Nooitgedacht. One of the bridesmaids, Shirley, also celebrated her 30th birthday and was surprised with a stunning birthday cake from Inke Cake Design.
The Floral Angel Wings
For the second part of the shoot, all the girls got dressed in stunning gowns made by Jacoba Clothing. Makeup artist, Mandy Nxumalo, did an amazing job in making everyone look like royalty. And then came the flowers! Mabel from Mabel M Florals is amazing, her creativity is off the charts. She helped create stunning floral accessories for each of the bridesmaids and a unique headpiece for the bride. The main focal point of this part of the shoot, the pièce de résistance, was the floral angel wings. This marvellous creation made the scene look like something out of a fairytale.
The whole look suited Precious’s bright personality and vibrant energy perfectly – she looked like a real-life goddess. There couldn’t have been a more perfect model for this concept. Precious and her bridesmaids brought a tangible energy to the whole photo shoot. According to photographer Stefan Steenkamp, they were a dream to work with; “We didn’t have to tell them what to do, they were just working that camera. So easy to work with, so much fun.”

Extravagance, Style & The Wedding Stage
The last part of the photoshoot was the bride and groom’s main table set up for the wedding reception. All the wedding vendors in attendance were in agreement that they wanted to create a setting that is striking, extravagant, and eye-catching. And they certainly did not disappoint. The decor featured a blend of deep, rich colour tones while still maintaining the romance of a wedding. The stunning, lush and full floral displays offset the dramatic elements of the black candles and table decor.
Nico, from N Concepts and Designs, provided a completely new and creative wedding stage on which to place the bridal table. This mirror stage added a completely new sleek and contemporary dimension to the environment. Candles were scattered all over the floor, their flickering lights reflecting off the stage surface and lighting up the surrounding area.
These awesome bridal stages are a growing trend amongst their African couples. Specifically, so that the bride and the groom have an elevated platform during the reception – the main focal point for guests to look at. And they definitely deserve to be the highlight, to be admired on their wedding day.
