Introducing A Royal Affair in Cape Town
“Royal, classy, meaningful. After a 6 year long dating journey, our wedding day was the most epic start to the rest of our lives!
Being foodies and having a knack of finding hidden gems in the city, we were captivated by the thought of a city wedding. Cape Town is such a vibrant city and boasts an amazing history and beauty. When we got engaged, we knew that the first venue we wanted to look at was Centre for the Book… and we looked no further! Our ceremony was held in the Sea Point Evangelical Congregational Church, a lovely old-style English church with beautiful red carpets and stained glass windows and we could think of nothing greater than having our wedding reception in a library.”
Inspiration for this beautiful wedding
“Our inspiration for the day was a warm, royal, banquet-style feast. Warm undertones for a winter wedding. Think Hogwarts or The Beauty and the Beast. The palette was dark red/burgundy, green, pops of white and gold. We did not have a wedding planner, and Centre for the Book is not an official wedding venue, but a public place. Consequently, we had to rent EVERYTHING… chairs, tables, cutlery, all of it. This truly allowed us to create the perfect picture of what we wanted – like receiving a clean canvas and going crazy. It was so special to be involved in every little detail of the day. Our vendors were truly really fantastic and we would recommend them to anyone.”
