The Wedding Planner Planning Her Own Wedding
If I had any regrets it would be that I wish I slowed down a little more to take it all in. As the bride and groom, your day goes by in the blink of an eye. You don’t actually get a chance during the course of your wedding day to just “take it all in”. Take a step back to look at your beautiful wedding décor, dance a little more to your favourite song and take time to actually eat your wedding food, even if it’s just your wedding cake. All the months of planning your big day comes to a conclusion on this one day. Appreciate all of the small details as much as you can.
Being a wedding coordinator, I have seen which aspects of a wedding my brides often spend too much time and money on, and which aspects they don’t focus on enough. This was not the case for Piero and I. We knew exactly what was right for the two of us. Just the right touch of elegance, just the right amount of glamour, the perfect focus on what really matters to both of us!
We decided on an enchanted forest look and feel. Luckily we decided to get married in March, which is honestly the best month weather-wise in Cape Town. So we were guaranteed great weather to have our ceremony, pre-drinks and reception, all outdoors. We had a wonderful DJ who supplied us with the best music, allowing us to dance the night away under the Milkwood forest at Grootbos Private Nature Reserve with all our special guests until 3 am.
