The Real Wedding of Danette & Jacques at Beloftebos
Get inspired by this incredible real wedding with loads of natural décor and floral elements! Below is a wonderful piece written by no one else but the bride herself, Danette.
The Couple
Our wedding day was simply magical and filled to the brim with everything and everyone we loved. Winter bliss, on a perfect day! We got engaged at the Marriott Hotel, Bangkok, in 2018. For 8 months, I had walked past a quaint little jeweller just outside from the school where we were working. I had always wondered what treasures they made inside the shop with it’s glass windows and winding staircase. Little did I know that they were making the most beautiful engagement ring for me. Two and a half years later, we finally said “I do”.
The Wedding Venue
We chose “Beloftebos” as our wedding venue, because of the gorgeous oak- trees, large doors, and glass windows. Most importantly, we were truly impressed by how hospitable and professional Coia and her team were.
The Natural Wedding Decor
The venue also suited our natural wedding decor, which included raw textures such as dried aloe flowers, leaves, and roots. San-Mari from Creative Nook took our mood board and created the most spectacular atmosphere, using mostly raw and organic materials. Spending the whole day in the most beautiful Alana Van Heerden creation was brilliant! Knowing it was beaded in India and created in Africa was the perfect blend of east and west.
The Details
Jacques’s suit was tailor-made in Bangkok, every button and stitch carefully chosen together. Our menu, curated by Pieter Hugo and created by Corneli from Beloftebos, refected this blend as well. They expertly created favour sensations that reflected our journey across two continents. Corneli also suggested that we serve the food on the tables, enabling the guests to serve themselves, creating such a beautifully shared dining experience.
The Wedding Cake
The Wedding Cake, made by Pieter Hugo, was also a highlight on the menu. Glazed chunks of golden pineapple and cherries, infused with sweet liqueur and smothered in white chocolate and icing. Heaven on earth. What stood out to me was seeing Jacques for the first time. Truly taking each other in, while surrounded by all that we cherish and all that we love, in the winter setting so perfect, it made every moment of the day memorable and cherish-able. I also want to thank every vendor on our list. Each one played such an important part in our wedding day. They were warm, kind and so professional, each one doing what they do best. If we could have the day all over again- we would choose every vendor and every guest again and again.
