The Real Wedding of Kristi and Luke at Marlenique Wedding Estate

What started out as a ‘swipe right’, two postponed dates, changing the dress at the last moment, ended up being an absolute fairytale wedding at Marlenique Wedding Estate! When people say ‘couple goals’, we feel like they’re talking about Kristi and Luke. Everything about their day was perfect and it was the flaws that made it like that!

“I was the most stress-free bride and enjoyed every moment of my day! Luke and I are made for each other and no one makes us smile as each other do.”

THE DECOR

The decor was inspired by minimalism and Kirsti’s most loved plant – the delicious monster! To-Nett’s took the couples’ vision, added some hints of boho, and made it a dream come true. It was extra while being simple.

THE CAKE

“We knew we didn’t want a traditional cake. No one was going to eat the cake anyway when we had a dessert table for them to enjoy, so we opted for a macaron tower of vanilla and pistachio. I wanted a ‘cake’ where everyone could enjoy it. At the end of the night, the macarons were finished and we got to enjoy the top cake during our honeymoon!”

THE DRESS

“I changed my mind about my dress about two months before my wedding and ended up having a dress made – online! It arrived as a flop and somehow my mother took the dress and transformed it into one that made everyone say it was absolutely beautiful!”

THE NON-TRADITIONS

“We added our own flavour to our wedding with simple things like the music – our first dance was to a Monark song. We didn’t have a bouquet toss – I gave my bouquet to the couple that had been together the longest. And we had no garter toss. I had two dresses of which both were under R5000 together! Our groomsmen got their outfits from a local store. We made our favours and table displays as well. Everything about our wedding was absolute perfection, and stress-free!”
