“Ryan and I met and live in Ireland (where I’m from) but both deeply love South Africa. Ryan is from Durban and over the course of our 5-year relationship, I have returned home with him many times. Each time, I would come back to Ireland and tell my family and friends that they must experience the magic of South Africa one day. So, when we got engaged, we knew straight away that our wedding would be in South Africa.” – Kate

“Deciding where to get married in South Africa was a bit of a challenge because there are so many beautiful places. Although, we knew in our hearts that our wedding would be in Ryan’s home province, KwaZulu-Natal. I had visited the KZN Midlands a few times and it always reminded me of Ireland – the rolling fields, country cafes, scenic views (but with better weather) – and it felt like the perfect blend of Ryan and me.” – Kate

Incredible Forest Chapel

“Picking our wedding venue was easy. We wanted an indoor/outdoor wedding and Haycroft Farm’s incredible forest chapel and deck area overlooking the lake allowed us to have the outdoor wedding ceremony and canapé reception of our dreams. The evening reception was held indoors in the beautiful country venue with its amazing fireplace, which was very welcome on a cold winter’s evening. It also served as the perfect backdrop for the South Africans to squeak some tekkie and the Irish to show off their Riverdance moves! The whole team at Haycroft were incredible and Pippa and Dudu went above and beyond to make our wedding the best day ever.” – Kate
