On Valentine’s Day in 2013, a chance encounter in Stellenbosch brought two people together. As fate would have it, a bird pooped on Eloïse’s head just moments before meeting Carel Chris, and they joked about the superstition that it brings good luck. They exchanged numbers and started dating, embarking on a journey of love and adventure.

Over the next 10 years, they grew together and faced the ups and downs of life as a team. Despite any obstacles, their love only grew stronger. And on their 10th anniversary, they tied the knot at Loch Lynne, surrounded by loved ones, grateful for the bird that brought them together all those years ago.
