Riverman Cabin’s stunning white Chapel seating 50, coupled with breathtaking surroundings and views from the Chapel’s balcony (especially in summer), is the perfect Mpumalanga Wedding Venue for intimate weddings. A beautifully restored horse cart from the early 1900’s, pulled by two handsome donkeys, is available to transport the bride from her cabin to the Chapel.
Guests can easily walk from the Chapel to the restaurant, which is located only a few meters from the Chapel. They aim to provide the bride and groom with the wedding of their dreams, thus, if there is something on the menu which doesn’t tickle your fancy, or if you would like to add something such as a candy bar, please let them know and they will do their best to accommodate you.
Nestled in the beautiful valley of Tonteldoos, Riverman Cabin is the perfect place to exchange traffic for donkeys lazily grazing, rushed lunches for a picnic in the veld and city noises for an evening song, sung by crickets and orchestrated by frogs. Riverman Cabin is situated in the Tonteldoos Valley, +-30 km northeast of Dullstroom, which is approximately a 3-hour drive from Johannesburg.
Riverman Cabin consists of seven independent cabins – three of which are stone cabins, one brick cabin, and the other three are wooden cabins.
All the cabins are fully furnished and equipped for a homely self-catering experience. All the cabins are open plan with cosy indoor fireplaces, as well as private, external braai areas with complimentary wood stocked for the first night.
This enchanting country experience caters for every whim, whether you seek peace and serenity or feel like challenging your adventurous spirit. Their trout dams lie waiting for the avid fly-fisher, willing to rise with the sun – coffee flask in hand. If this doesn’t tickle your fancy, sleep in and awake to the sounds of abundant bird life, then bask in the sun with a captivating read.
The farm boasts luscious trees, streams running through the trout dams and bold mountains, all of which contribute to the unique variety of fauna and flora to be found in the area, including endangered species such as the Crane family, Oribi, Aardwolf and Arum Lilies. Get to the top of the koppies any way you like, just as long as you take the time to soak in the panoramic grandeur of your surroundings and enjoy a sundowner with the mountains fading into the horizon.
