Say I Do is a Cape Town–based wedding celebrancy service founded by Janet Askew, who brings decades of experience guiding couples through marriage preparation, counselling, and ceremony design. Rooted in both personal legacy and professional expertise, Say I Do offers couples the opportunity to celebrate their love story with warmth, authenticity, and creativity.

Unlike a marriage officer, a celebrant focuses on the symbolic and emotional aspects of the ceremony rather than the legal paperwork. Say I Do specialises in crafting bespoke ceremonies that reflect each couple’s values, culture, and personality. Whether it’s an intimate elopement on the beach, a vineyard celebration in the Cape Winelands, or a backyard gathering filled with family traditions…. Janet ensures that every ceremony feels personal, meaningful, and unforgettable.

With a background in marriage preparation and counselling, Janet brings a deep understanding of the challenges and joys of partnership. Her own journey — 32 years of love, family, loss and resilience — informs her belief in marriage as a foundation for growth and connection. Say I Do is, in part, a tribute to that journey, offering couples ceremonies that honour both the past and the promise of the future.
