Pretoria Wedding Photographer
Lizelle Haughton is the principle photographer at Shades of White Photography.
Following her studies in fine art and design in California, her journey with photography started with friends and family asking her to document their special day back in 2006. She quickly fell in love with the art of photography. The honour to tell the story, and to capture beautiful and artistically inspired images for her clients is her ultimate passion.
She is an artist and professional business woman, with a very vivacious personality. She is described by her clients as a professional with a rare ability to make subjects feel completely relaxed and comfortable. She is extremely adaptable and comfortable in any wedding celebration.
Her style is both Documentary and Illustrative.
Documentary: Instead of a series of posed photos, these are candid or spontaneous pictures. Lizelle loves to capture the key moments during your day and is constantly looking and taking photos without disturbing any stage of the wedding event. She takes anything from 50-100 images per hour, preserving all those little details and moments.
Illustrative: This style is a blend of traditional and photojournalism, with an emphasis on composition, lighting, and background. The photographer finds interesting environments and encourages the couple to relax and interact. The benefit of the illustrative motif is that it seems to have the spontaneity of candid’s, while it actually offers the technical control of portraiture.
Every photographer has a different way of editing their images using computer software. This is called “Post-Processing.”
Lizelle does her post processing in Adobe Lightroom. This module is for retouching, i.e., enhancing and improving digital photographs, including changing color balance, improving tone, removing red-eye effect, sharpening, reducing noise, cropping, straightening or converting to black-and-white. She is not a fan of over processing and over editing images. Unfortunately, there are no short cuts, and one button fixes in Photoshop. Therefore, if you are troubled by a double chin, and wish you had a smaller waistline etc., she will direct you during the photo sessions using angles and poses to flatter you. She will however not alter images in ways that appear over-processed, fake and unrealistic. Should you require “front page glamour edits” it can be arranged at a quoted hourly rate.
The wedding packages offered by Shades of White Photography cater for the individual needs of their clients, and have various payment options available.
